St George’s Cathedral, Southwark, formally the Metropolitan Cathedral Church of St George, is the Mother Church of the Archdiocese of Southwark, which covers the London boroughs south of the Thames, the county of Kent and the Medway Unitary Authority.

Music
St George's Cathedral has a well-established musical tradition, with a diversity of styles represented at the different Masses, ranging from congregational hymns and Mass settings at the 10am Family Mass sung by the Cathedral Consort youth choir, through plainsong and polyphony at the 12pm Solemn Mass sung by the Cathedral Choir of choristers and lay clerks. There is also a Junior Choir for younger children and the Cathedral runs the Southwark Singing Programme.

Canon Michael - Ecumenical Canon at Southwark Cathedral

Southwark Cathedral welcomes Canon Michael as new Ecumenical Canon

Canon Michael is delighted to have been invited to become an ecumenical canon at Southwark Cathedral. We welcome this opportunity to connect with our Anglican brothers and sisters across the borough and continue our journey as Christians together.

The installation will take place during Choral Evensong, at 3pm on Sunday 5 May, all are welcome to attend.
