St George’s Cathedral, Southwark, formally the Metropolitan Cathedral Church of St George, is the Mother Church of the Archdiocese of Southwark, which covers the London boroughs south of the Thames, the county of Kent and the Medway Unitary Authority.

Music
St George's Cathedral has a well-established musical tradition, with a diversity of styles represented at the different Masses, ranging from congregational hymns and Mass settings at the 10am Family Mass sung by the Cathedral Consort youth choir, through plainsong and polyphony at the 12pm Solemn Mass sung by the Cathedral Choir of choristers and lay clerks. There is also a Junior Choir for younger children and the Cathedral runs the Southwark Singing Programme.

Corpus Christi Procession

Our Corpus Christi procession is on Sunday 7 June (Corpus Christi Sunday) starting at 4.45pm.

The procession will commence from the Cathedral and take a circular route, encompassing Lambeth Road, Westminster Bridge Road and St George’s Road, concluding inside the Cathedral with Benediction.
