St George’s Cathedral, Southwark, formally the Metropolitan Cathedral Church of St George, is the Mother Church of the Archdiocese of Southwark, which covers the London boroughs south of the Thames, the county of Kent and the Medway Unitary Authority.

Music
St George's Cathedral has a well-established musical tradition, with a diversity of styles represented at the different Masses, ranging from congregational hymns and Mass settings at the 10am Family Mass sung by the Cathedral Consort youth choir, through plainsong and polyphony at the 12pm Solemn Mass sung by the Cathedral Choir of choristers and lay clerks. There is also a Junior Choir for younger children and the Cathedral runs the Southwark Singing Programme.

Solemn Mass of the Ascension - 6pm

In addition to the standard parish Masses at 7.30am and 12.30pm there will also be a sung Solemn Mass of the Ascension of the Lord.

This will be taking place on Thursday 29 May at 6pm.
