St George’s Cathedral, Southwark, formally the Metropolitan Cathedral Church of St George, is the Mother Church of the Archdiocese of Southwark, which covers the London boroughs south of the Thames, the county of Kent and the Medway Unitary Authority.

St George's Cathedral has a well-established musical tradition, with a diversity of styles represented at the different Masses, ranging from congregational hymns and Mass settings at the 10am Family Mass sung by the Cathedral Consort youth choir, through plainsong and polyphony at the 12pm Solemn Mass sung by the Cathedral Choir of choristers and lay clerks. There is also a Junior Choir for younger children and the Cathedral runs the Southwark Singing Programme.

Colla Voce Singers: Howells Requiem and Tippett Spirituals

Acclaimed chamber choir Colla Voce Singers returns St George's Cathedral with an evening recital for Lent.

An evening recital given by the acclaimed Colla Voce Singers, featuring Herbert Howells' Requiem and the Five Spirituals by Michael Tippett at 7pm on Saturday 12 March 2022, in St George's Cathedral after the Vigil Mass.

This 45 minute performance will be free of charge, however you may reserve a space in advance for a £1 booking fee to guarantee a space.
