The Southwark Schools Singing Programme is looking to appoint a new Choral Director for the Kent area from April 2024.

 

The Southwark Singing Programme is the schools singing programme of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Southwark, part of the National Schools Singing Programme. The programme currently operates in fifteen schools in the Southwark, Lambeth, Greenwich and Lewisham, and is seeking to expand further into Kent in the coming months, with a deliberate focus on areas of economic deprivation. 

Following rapid expansion of the programme, we are seeking an inspirational musician to join our team of Choral Directors. We are looking for a highly self-motivated and enterprising individual, meticulous in planning and administration, who can deliver our vision for inspirational choral education across our diocesan schools.

Particulars

  • Reporting to: Director of Music and Diocesan Music Steering Group. 
  • Location: The role will involve working in three schools in the Kent area initially, with additional administration time working from home. 
  • Hours: 7 hours per week, with potential to expand as more schools join the programme.
  • Salary: £6,000 (£30,000 FTE)
  • This is an initial fixed term appointment for two years, commencing April 2024. 
  • As this work involves regulated activity with children, this appointment is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS disclosure.
  • The closing date for applications is 5pm on Friday 8 March. Auditions and interviews will take place in the week commencing 18 March.
